Mail Servers backup

Companies now depend on their mail systems not only for communication but also for strategic professional processes. Regulations have taken this development on board by reinforcing backup obligations and the traceability of messages. Synerway’s mail server protection module provides a complete solution for companies.

Synerway proposes 3 methods to protect the mail server :

“Cold” protection when the mail server is shut down for a specific period (at night, for example). The Synerway Appliance takes advantage of this downtime to automatically stop the mail server, perform a total or incremental backup and restart once the backup is complete.

High performance backup by replication and versioning when the mail server shutdown causes major financial damage to the company or when the company needs a note level backup (requires the installation of the Advanced Pack modules for Lotus Notes or MS-Exchange).

The mail server benefits from Continuous Data Protection (CDP) in order to keep information loss to a minimum in the event of an incident and block mode to limit network load from traffic between the Synerway Appliance and the mail server.

“Hot” protection when companies require a mail server to be active 24 hours a day. In this case, the Synerway Appliance performs a hot backup without any mail server stoppage. The backup is either total, or incremental if you only wish to include the most recent modifications (MS-Exchange Only).
